PPROM at 22 weeks around 11:35pm.
My husband rushed me to the hospital where they told me that they couldn’t do anything until I was 23 weeks along or I could be transferred to a different hospital.
We made the choice to go somewhere else. The next day at 22.1 weeks, I was air lifted to another hospital where I was then put on magnesium and started antibiotics as well as the first dose of steroids.
Since labor didn’t start within 24 hours, they sent me to antepartum where I was on struck bedrest. 3 weeks went by and it was uneventful. When I was 25.4 weeks I went into labor and given magnesium. That was able to stop labor and I went back into antepartum.
At 26.6 I started bleeding with clots and went back down to labor and delivery and received more magnesium as well as monitoring my little girl. She was doing really good! So I asked to go back up to antepartum and wait even though the doctor wanted me to have her but they agreed and sent me back up.
Then at 27.6, I started having contractions. They hooked me up to the toco monitor and their machine wasn’t picking up any of my contractions. The doctor came in two times.
The first time I wasn’t even a centimeter dilated. The second time she checked me, I was at 3 centimeters the nurses brought be back to labor and delivery. 5 minutes later the doctor did an ultrasound to see if my baby was still breached and my baby was. The doctor checked me one last time and I was dilated to a 6! It hadn’t even been 5 minutes and I dilated 3 centimeters.
I was then prepared for an emergency c-section. 20 minutes later, my little Willow Mae was born weighing 2lbs 13oz. She was rushed to the nicu and treated with antibiotics. I had a silent infection and my body wasn’t showing any symptoms of this infection.
My little Willow stayed a total of 69 days in the nicu and came home at 37.3 weeks gestation weighing 6lbs 3oz. She’s 6months actual(3.5 adjusted) and weighs a little over 12lbs.
