PPROM at 32 weeks & 6 days missed infection
Tanesha PPROM at 32 weeks and 6 days gestation, sent home with 10 days of antibiotics after a 24hr admission. C-section booked for 37 weeks and had twice weekly monitoring's in the meantime.
36+3 I went into spontaneous labour and had a C-section. During surgery, they discovered I had an infection in the wall of my womb that none of my monitoring picked up on.
This meant that baby was born with an infection. At 24hrs old, her infection markers were extremely elevated so she was whisked off for a lumbar puncture to rule out meningitis and/or a brain infection. Luckily that was negative. But, we had to stay for 6 days whilst she was on IV antibiotics as she had Sepsis. She's now just about to turn 4 months old and extremely healthy.
Meet baby Mya.....
